Community, Campaign and Training Courses for visual participation to society daily issues
Visual stories are now powerful instruments for social understanding, expression and change. Learn how to use Social Sciences, Visual Arts and Cinematography, in order to become an effective Visual Storyteller of you ideas.
The Academy of Film, Cross-Media and Socio-Visual Development CINEIMPACT organizes in the academic year 2014-2015 a cycle of courses supporting transdisciplinary education in the realization of documentary films and multimedia projects dedicated to the expression of society’s daily problems. Those passioned about about social understanding, expression and change and about enriching their knowledge and practical skills in Visual Storytelling, Documentary Filmmaking and Multimedia may submit applications for the courses enrollment until November, 25th (Late Deadine) at the address email@example.com.
CINEIMPACT operates as a platform for research, development and education in designing cinematic, visual representations of non-fiction. This independent initiative is not intended to overlap or duplicate the courses existing in traditional institutions, but precisely to complement them. Maintaining collaborative relationships with the institutionalized academic approaches, CINEIMPACT is a catalyst for education and production that uses in a convergent manner the resources of Social Science, Visual Arts and Film. Within the daily carousel of our constructible and de-constructible “realities”, this initiative proposes a re-equipment of our understanding with creative tools, corresponding to the new challenges of our current informational universe.
CINEIMPACT academic platform includes experts from social sciences, visual arts, filmmaking:
Ger Duijzings – co -director of the UCL Urban Laboratory-University College London, Prof. Dr. at the University of Regensburg, East European Anthropology doctoral coordintator, experimental documentary filmmaker ; Cristian Robert Velescu – Prof. Dr. University of Fine Arts , art historian , author of the study ” Avantgarde and modernity” ; Mihai Coman – founder of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, doctoral school coordinator, co-author of “Media Anthropology ” ; Ionut Piturescu – Dr. in Sociology and Visual Anthropology , coordinator of Center for Innovation , Development and Film Production , director of the film “Quest” – Romania , 30 min , winner of Quinzaine des Realisateurs Award at the Cannes Film Festival ; Vintilă Mihailescu – head of the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Political Science, SNSPA, doctoral school coordinator, author of ” Anthropology . Five Introductions“). During the courses cycle there will be offered Master-Classes sustained by invited tutors such as Thomas Ciulei (director, producer, cinematographer, winner of numerous international awards), Ada Solomon (producer of numerous award-winning films, Golden Bear – Berlinale IFF, Eurimages Award for Co-Production granted by the European Film Academy), Corneliu Porumboiu (director, producer, creator of films awarded in the sections Un Certain Regard and Cinefondation at the Cannes Film Festival), Alexandru Solomon (director, producer, director of the festival “One World “, holder of many international awards), Peter Crawford (consultant, filmmaker, professor of Visual Anthropology – University of Aarhus, Freie Universitat Berlin, Australian National University).

(16 courses, 4 courses/week, the starting hour is 6 PM in week days and 4 PM Saturday)

4. Documentary/Hybrid Filmmaking
– documentary/hybrid/multimedia script and project writing
( including notions of project development, financing, production and distribution)
At the course end, there will be a public screening of the projects within an award ceremony.
A jury will evaluate the participating projects, offering the following awards:
Award / Awards for the best project
Scholarship (Fellowships) to participate in the following course module
One-to-one consultancy in development/production/distribution of winning project/projects
